History of the SIS
The Senologic International Society (SIS) was founded in 1976 in Strasbourg (France). Today, SIS is a worldwide unique federation of breast societies, scientific societies, associations and groups with a priority mission: to improve breast health. The SIS-International School of Senology promotes educational activities in collaboration with about 100 affiliated institutions. Further, SIS has implemented an accreditation program for breast centres giving an international accreditation, complementary to national accreditation. The SIS World Congress highlights every two years the progress of scientific knowledge in the domain of breast health.
The 20th World Congress of SIS - Strasbourg, December 5th to 7th, 2018
The 20th World Congress of Senologic International Society on Healthcare will re-evaluate where we stand now on the way to a Global Breast Care Alliance and envision what future research still has to achieve. Leading specialists from around the world, united by a passion to improve the quality of life of those battling with breast cancer and breast related diseases, will engage in hot topics, controversial issues, a patient centred session and future horizons. The scientific sessions focus on epidemiology, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, breast diseases centres certification and breast cancer advocacy. A special focus will concern big data, artificial intelligence and connected devices.
The CNGOF (Collège National des Gynécologues-Obstétriciens Français) congress takes place in parallel to the SIS congress.
Translation English/French will be available during the conferences.

Photo Exhibition
This voluntary exhibition was commissioned by Professor Carole Mathelin, head of the senology department of the Hautepierre University Hospital (Strasbourg, France), Jeremy Harroch, founder of the data-scientists-consultant company "Quantmetry", and the association "Seins & vie" (SEVE). The photograph shows how these so different structures function, dialogue, progress and save lives; how a new multi-scientific trans-disciplinarity is constructed, thus complementing medical multi-disciplinarity. This exhibition was inaugurated on 26 October 2017 as part of the "pink October" event at the "Banque pour l'Investissement" (BPI) in Paris. It has been shown at the Hautepierre University Hospital from 31 October to the end of November 2017. It will be installed near the Schuman Room during the 20th Congress of the SIS.
